My Fossil Q Hybrid starting overcounting my steps.

I just completed 9000 steps while sitting at my desk!

My wife has a gen 4 Sloan which was tracking fine till a week or so ago now it shows completely inaccurate steps etc although the phone still seems about right despite the phone sitting on a counter top most of the day.

I've also noticed my Fossil Q Hybrid Machine is over-counting steps, and just now to test my hypothesis I kept my arm perfectly still at my desk, refreshed the app, and noticed no change. After a few minutes, I shook my arm a bunch as if adjusting the watch on my wrist, and it counted it as steps upon refresh. I again sat still and waited then refreshed and received no additional steps, shook my arm, refresh, more steps registered.

I can't believe everyone had the same trouble and obviously Fossil has no remedy or they would have posted it here. :( I switched from the Fitbit I have to my fossil watch and noticed the fossil is significantly lower. Today I wore both and I noticed the fossil doesn't log steps when I'm puttering around the kitchen making supper and emptying the dishwasher. And damn, that's alot of steps missed!!! I guess time to switch back to my Fitbit. :(

I've had my fossil gen 5 watch for about a week and it seems to only count less than half of my steps, I wore it and my Fitbit also today and had three times as many steps on my fit bit.

Hey! I bought the Charter HR, and only set it up yesterday. I've noticed it over-calculated my steps. I had over 300 steps before even getting out of bed this morning!

Thought I'd check if anyone was having similar issues, then i found this thread! Can you kindly assist?

and it tells me it's time to move as i'm walking!

Just like all the other comments, my watch is not recording the appropriate amount of steps. I have the Gen 5. I know this because I did the same amount of activity with my fiance yesterday and at the end of the day his watch said 23000+ steps and mine said 5000+ steps. I really wanted Samsung watch. I have so many regrets.

    Hi Team,

I just want to know how Fossil Gen 5 Captures/ Monitors heart rate, calories. If you see from my activity, I did HIIT for about 40 Minutes and with average Heart Rate- 129, but still calories burnt are 64. That is not possible. Let me know hoe it can capture correct calories. As I bought it for tracking my activities.

I wore my watch on a hike today and the data was very inaccurate compared to my phone and my girlfriend's phone. It tracked 3km less and I'm fairly certain my heartrate wasn't accurate at some points. Definitely disappointing to see such a huge discrepancy with distance/steps, though. I guess Garmin's are better when it comes to health and fitness tracking, but I didn't think it'd be this bad.

Mine is over counting.... Sitting on the clutch 200 steps.... Going up set of stairs 1000 steps,... This watch truly is a piece of art in my opinion ... And how smart watches of future should be.... I hope these issues can be fixed so you can truly enjoy the capabilities of a smart watch. I wish it was more expensive but it would have functioned better....
