This option seems to have disappeared from the fit heart rate app. I have a Fossil Q Explorist HR and I remember taking a heart rate reading on demand a week ago. The option is now gone.

I don't think it is a Fossil watch issue per se. It is more of a Wear OS issue. I've had the watch for a little over a year and Wear OS has gotten clunkier by the minute. Can't return it but I certainly have abandoned it.

I just got a Venture Gen 4 and it took me a minute but I figured out how to take your heart rate on demand.

Since google broke the Fit app into several different apps, you're going to want to go to the Fit Heart Rate app. Then you need to go to settings. If you have the option to have your heart rate be constantly monitored, turn that option OFF. That is what is stopping the app and watch from letting you take your heart rate whenever you want. When you turn it off, you'll now see a "measure" button on the heart rate screen.

I hope this helps someone! I almost returned the watch myself because it was the main reason I wanted it.
