Installing an update after not using for 2 months. Will see if the screen glitch is fixed. I find it hard to believe it is hardware issue.

Can confirm the watch is working normally after latest update. Carlyle gen 5.

Only problem now is that I can't send messages with the Google assistant on the watch now. Probably due to the api getting changed. Progress though for sure. Almost sent the watch back, will keep it now.

    Hello.

I have a Skagen Falster 3 and it seems to have the same issue: screen goes green, doesn't respond to touches, then goes black and the only respond from the watch is vibration when I try to restart it.

I have tried all the above procedures, no battery, charge it, all of it, but with no success.

I have already sent an email with this concern. Can you please advise how to solve this..?

It is a shame, because the watch never fell or anything that might damage the screen.

    Thank you.

My Gen 4 explorist has just started having a weird issue where the screen doesn't respond to touch after the screen is activated. I can touch it to turn it on, but then it does nothing. A lot of the time the screen turns off really quickly after a second or two. At first I thought it was a hardware issue, but now I think it's just lagging so badly that it is not responding properly.

I definitely wouldn't buy one of these. It seems to be underpowered and laggy/unresponsive very often even when it is working.

I have a Gen 5 Carlyle, and this has suddenly started doing this in the last few weeks. The watch will have plenty of battery charge, and will randomly not wake. There is also no communication with the watch via bluetooth.

If it's paced on the charging dock, and plugged into either a computer or battery source it will sometimes wake, showing the date & time on the watch of when it froze. This takes a while to then catch up with the phone & update the date & time.

Not had much luck with the 3 buttons reset procedure, it mostly needs to be docked, so really annoying when it happens during the day aweay from home.

Ive noticed also when it's working the screen can be very erratic, turning off in seconds or turning off in less than a seconds when navigating the system menus.

It's now done it twice in less than 24hours. Looking at the amount of identical issues raised on this post alone, this cant be a hardware fault, and needs investigating by Fossil. This is very similar to when the watch audio issue too ages to be acknoledged and fixed by Fossil.

If you want to keep your customers, you need to respond quicker. Im put off buying another Fossil for sure.

Following my last comment, Fossil contacted me and arranged for a collection for repair. The process is SLOW, after 3 weeks I still dont have my watch back, its been with Fossil 2 weeks with no update on repair or return.

So my watch arrived back yesterday. Nothing to explain how it was fixed, except a parts list used of 'Touchscreen Smartwatch Mid Frame' and 'Case back w/HRM' so guessing this turned out to be hardware failure.

Thanks to Fossil for reaching out on this forum to getting the case opened & repairing the watch under warranty, albeit a very slow turnaround.

Hopefully this will serve me well for many more years.

    Hello all.

About 4 months ago, I wrote a comment here regarding my newly bought Skagen Falster 3. I had, a similar problem: screen goes green, doesn't respond to touches, then goes black and the only respond from the watch is vibration when I try to restart it.

I contacted Skagen support, and they responded quickly. They wanted images, videos, of the issue (to which I sent them). Then, they gave me a set of procedures that would fix the issue. It didn't!! Then, the very friendly individual from the support told me that after careful analysis, they were ready to exchange my watch, with a new unit, since they have understood it was a faulty unit. So, I sent them the watch, with the charger, all the documents from the warranty to their site in Dallas, for that purpose. A couple of months after receiving the watch, and without communicating with me anything (they went completely silent, to the point that I had to call them!!) I received the watch back, with a note stating that it was fixed under warranty. I was happy, very happy. So, I opened the box, read the note, looked for the charger, and nothing!!! No charger. Wrote back to them, no response. So, I bought a new charger, because the watch was fixed, according to them. New charger arrived....and no, the watch remains the same!!

At this point...I don't even want it fixed anymore...I just want my money back...for the watch, the extra charger that I HAD TO BUY because they didn't sent the original one, and I will go on my way and Skagen/Fossil goes their way. Not buying anymore products from them, and I hope they lose their client base.

Mind you, that I live in Africa, bought the watch online, had to sent the watch to them in the USA and all.

This was, really, a bad service.

Hope you have a better one.

To Skagen/Fossil...if any of you is are reading this. I would like to be contacted, to fix this issue. I can send you the ENTIRE conversation I had with your technicians.

    All the best.

I have now had this more times than I want to count, so far I have always been able to recover using one of a few steps.

Normally holding down all three buttons will reset and allow me to see the Fossil logo, which displays for a few seconds then does into reboot/vibrate and display logo for a few seconds / reboot again sequence. Holding down the bottom key at this point gets me into the diagnostic screen (don't release the button until you see it) which to date has never been useful but maybe it will at some point.

What does seem more helpful is either holding down the top button as soon as you see the Fossil logo until I get to the wear logo, or even longer, alternatively, pressing the top button every 0.5 seconds until the watch starts up seems to work.

When I finally get in I perform a factory reset through the watch menu and pair to my phone ASAP. Last time I did this I noticed it was the later version of Wear/OS so maybe it screwed up on an update. If I don't factory reset my phone seems to screw up again within a few hours.

I have stopped turning off the watch display now since this, in my limited experience, causes the issue to happen more often.

I just wish google would bring out a reliable Wear/OS watch and I will gladly throw this piece of junk that scratches if I look at it too long in the bin where it belongs. - IMHO :)

I am having trouble with my screen just going crazy. Sometimes I touch the screen and it opens apps, it will triple touch the screen when only touched once. Sometimes the screen does not accept touch and only the buttons work. Seems like a software issue? Any updates for this? Fossil Q Gen 4

My Fossil Q Venture 4 has also become glitchy. The touchscreen is no longer working. I had to send this watch for repairs when the back fell off after I had it for only 5 months, and I don't want to have to send it in again, but it looks like I'll have to if the screen won't respond within a day or two.

I'm having similar issues to everyone here. My Kate Spade Scallop was under warranty. So I sent it in. They sent it back claiming it was fixed. After charging for about 5 hours the screen is still black and the only response I get is vibrate. After sending them an email and fiddling around with the thing, I managed to pair and sync to my phone with a completely black watch screen and the Wear OS on my phone says its fully charged. At this point I just want a brand new replacement. I shouldn't have to pay for warranty and insurance again. Either they didn't fix it or it's so defective it broke again before I even unpacked. It its never been dropped or left in the heat. I don't even work out in it. I've done boot camp workouts and put my Samsung Gear 2 through hell and it still work great like 8 years later. I bought the Kate Spade for a classier look for everyday, but it's just not holding up to the hype.
